  • Homework Content: We process images and text of your homework assignments that you upload or write within the app to provide our checking services.
  • Profile Information: Information you choose to provide in your profile, such as display name and preferences.
  • Aura Points and Activity: Data related to your study sessions, points earned, leaderboard rankings, and app usage.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our Apps, including features used, time spent, and error logs.
  • Analytics Data: We use analytics tools to understand app performance and user behavior. This may include crash reports and performance metrics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Apps and services
  • Process and analyze your homework assignments to identify errors and provide feedback using third-party large language model (LLM) services
  • Maintain leaderboards and calculate Aura Points
  • Personalize your experience and provide customer support
  • Send you updates, security alerts, and administrative messages
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations

Third-Party LLM Processing: When you submit handwriting or homework content for checking, we send this content to a third-party large language model (LLM) service provider to analyze and identify errors. This processing is necessary to provide our core checking functionality. The LLM provider processes your content according to their privacy policy and terms of service.

3. Data Processing and Storage

Your homework content is processed to provide our core services. We store your data using Firebase, Google's cloud-based platform, which provides secure data storage and authentication services.

We may store your assignments and related data on Firebase servers to:

  • Perform error checking and analysis
  • Maintain your account, preferences, and study history
  • Sync your data across devices
  • Improve our services and accuracy

Firebase stores your data in secure, encrypted databases. Your data is subject to Firebase's security measures and privacy practices. We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for data storage, authentication, and backend services. Your account information, homework content, and app data are stored on Firebase servers.   • Third-Party LLM Providers: When you use our homework checking feature, we send your handwriting and assignment content to third-party large language model (LLM) service providers for processing and error detection. These providers process your content to deliver the checking functionality. The LLM provider's use of your data is governed by their privacy policy and terms of service.
  • Other Service Providers: We may share data with other third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf (e.g., analytics, payment processing). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government regulation.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With Your Consent: We may share information with your explicit consent.

Leaderboard Data: Your username, Aura Points, and rankings may be displayed on public leaderboards as part of the app's gamification features.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Secure authentication and access controls
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Limited access to personal data on a need-to-know basis

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our Apps are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete such information.

We use the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for data storage, user authentication, and backend infrastructure. All user data, including account information, homework content, and app settings, is stored on Firebase servers. Firebase is subject to Google's privacy policy.   • Third-Party LLM Services: We use third-party large language model (LLM) providers to analyze and check your homework assignments. When you submit handwriting or text for checking, this content is sent to the LLM provider for processing. The LLM provider processes your content according to their privacy policy and terms of service. We do not control how the LLM provider uses your data beyond what is necessary to provide the checking service.
  • Analytics Services: To understand app usage and improve our services
  • Payment Processors: For in-app purchases and subscriptions (handled by Apple through the App Store)

By using our Apps, you acknowledge that your data may be processed by these third-party services as described above.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
